School season is here or nearly here (depending on location)! Whether starting a new school year, or being a lifelong learner, here are some media and digital projects for the academic year!

For the inquiring journalist:

  • Create a newsletter
  • Make a zine
  • Create a newspaper inspired by your favorite novel
  • Keep a journal

For the curious historian:

  • Research a historical item, figure, or event connected to technology and/or media.
  • Research family history
  • Create a timeline of media history facts
  • Scrapbook the school year

For the inquisitive adventurer:

  • Learn more about AI
  • Learn a new tech skill
  • Research about cyber security
  • Try to complete tasks without technology
  • Use a different technology for a task (calling instead of texting, etc.)

For the innovative artist:

  • Research how to recognize images made with AI
  • Learn a new graphic design software
  • Organize and backup images in two different places
  • Learn more about web design
  • Capture a memory through video

For the wanderlust traveler:

  • Create a digital scrapbook
  • Create a digital collage of landscape photos
  • Research the effects of social media on tourism
  • Use an AI tool (like ChatGPT or Google Gemini) to create a dream vacation of your favorite place (verify sources)
