  • Action 4 Media Education – Action for Media Education promotes and advocates for media literacy education, with special outreach to parents, teachers, and those who work with children.
  • National Association for Media Literacy Education –  A national membership organization dedicated to advancing the field of media literacy education in the United States.
  • The Center for Media Literacy – An educational organization that provides leadership, public education, professional development and educational resources nationally and internationally. Dedicated to promoting and supporting media literacy education as a framework for accessing, analyzing, evaluating, creating,  and participating with media content, CML works to help citizens, especially the young, develop critical thinking and media production skills needed to live fully in the 21st century media culture.
  • Canada’s MediaSmarts – MediaSmarts has been developing digital and media literacy programs and resources for Canadian homes, schools and communities since 1996. Through our work we support adults with information and tools so they can help children and teens develop the critical thinking skills they need for interacting with the media they love.
  • Media Education Foundation – Produces and distributes documentary films and other educational resources to inspire critical thinking about the social, political, and cultural impact of American mass media.
  • Fairplay (formally Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood) – Fairplay works for the rights of children to grow up—and the freedom for parents to raise them—without being undermined by commercial interests. They advocate for policies to protect children from harmful marketing and promote commercial-free time and space for kids.
  • Free Press – A powerful nationwide movement to change media and technology policies, promote the public interest and strengthen democracy. Free Press advocates for universal and affordable Internet access, diverse media ownership, vibrant public media and quality journalism.
  • The Museum of Broadcast Communication – The mission of the Museum of Broadcast Communications is to collect, preserve, and present historic and contemporary radio and television content as well as educate, inform, and entertain the public through its archives, public programs, screenings, exhibits, publications and online access to its resources.
  • Project Look Sharp – A media literacy initiative of Ithaca College that develops and provides lesson plans, media materials, training, and support for the effective integration of media literacy with critical thinking into classroom curricula at all education levels.
  • The News Literacy Project – The News Literacy Project (NLP) is an innovative national educational program that mobilizes seasoned journalists to help middle school and high school students sort fact from fiction in the digital age.
